Photo & Video Studio

The Photo & Video Studio allows users to **capture cinematic media directly from within the browser** using their 3D Gaussian Splatting models. Whether exporting a high-resolution photo or rendering a full animation, this studio gives full visual control without requiring external tools or engines.

Studio Modes

You can toggle between Photo Mode and Video Mode at the top of the interface. Both modes load the selected model into the interactive viewport, with real-time camera controls and settings.

  • Photo Mode: Ideal for capturing promotional stills, documentation, thumbnails, or previews. Additional effects (DOF, grain, tints) will be added soon.
  • Video Mode: Used to generate cinematic motion through the scene using AI camera paths or manually defined animation keyframes.

Preview & Timeline Controls

The center area shows the **live preview of the model**, along with all keyframe camera paths, points, and field-of-view. You can freely move the camera using orbit controls — and save this view as a keyframe.

  • Play / Pause: Animates the camera along the defined keyframe path in real time.
  • Reset to Start: Jumps the timeline back to frame 0.
  • Add Keyframe: Captures current camera position and orientation as a new keyframe.
Studio Preview & Keyframes

Keyframes

Each keyframe defines a **camera pose and orientation**. These are interpolated between to generate smooth cinematic transitions. Keyframes can be freely edited, expanded, re-ordered, or removed.

  • Modify Position: Manually set X / Y / Z values.
  • Modify Orientation: Adjust the camera’s rotation angles.
  • Update From Preview: Instantly updates a keyframe using your current viewport camera state.
  • Delete Keyframe: Removes the selected frame from the animation path.

Studio Settings Panel

Located on the right side of the interface, these settings differ slightly between photo and video mode:

In Video Mode:

  • Camera Position & Orientation — Editable X / Y / Z values.
  • Focal Length — Affects field of view and cinematic compression.
  • Splat Scale — Adjusts the rendering size of splats.
  • Video Duration — Total length in seconds.
  • Frame Rate — Supports 24fps, 30fps, and 60fps.

In Photo Mode:

  • Output Format: PNG by default.
  • Position, Orientation, Focal Length — Same as video.
  • Splat Scale — Matches final rendered sharpness and detail.

Render Resolution

In the center toolbar, users can select from standard resolution presets or define custom output sizes. The viewport dynamically resizes to match the resolution.

  • HD: 1280×720
  • Full HD: 1920×1080
  • 2K: 2560×1440
  • 4K: 3840×2160
  • 2K Wide: 3440×1440
  • Custom Resolution: Enter width × height manually

Rendering Media

Both video and photo rendering happen entirely in the browser — no server roundtrip is required. Users must allow a few seconds for the browser to complete processing.

Media Export Buttons:

  • Capture Photo: Renders the current frame and downloads it as PNG.
  • Render Video: Starts the animation render and downloads the result as MP4.

Note: Keyframes, animation settings, and video data are **not saved** after export — this is an intentional design to prevent storing incomplete render sequences.
